Wellington impressive!

Wellington put an exclamation point on their undefeated season by whipping the Clarendon Broncos 38-16. If you look at the production by the Skyrockets on the offensive side of the ball you might think this is just a high powered offense. They do average 45 ppg and have weapons like Westin Williams and Eric Needham... However, it does not take long to see that the other side of the ball is the difference maker. Clarendon scoring 16 points is the most scored on the big red defense this season. The rockets stingy defense only allows 7.3 ppg... Not a bad combination going into the playoffs->good defense and an explosive offense. Only problem is Canadian looms in the distance...

Video Highlights

I hope everyone enjoys the video that we have added to the site. It has been really nice for me to start editing again. Some of you might have had a highlight film done from us before... I have not been able to try out all the stuff on my new editing system yet. However, I think it ads cool content to the site. It has also been difficult to shoot video as well as take photos. I missed a great TD in the A. Cooper vs Frenship game trying to get the video camera to start up.
Let us know what you think!

This weeks schedule:
Thursday-Canyon at Caprock
Friday-Lorenzo at Ropes - 1st half
Friday-Stanton at Sundown - 2nd half
Sat-Heritage Classical
See you at the Game!

Canadian #9?

Maud Cardinals
Canadian tumbled to #9 from #1 by losing to Stratford Friday night 17-7. Cisco got beat by a team that was not in the top 10 and dropped to #7...? I took the time to break down, now #1 Maud. They have not played quality teams is probably an understatement. In preseason they only went up in class twice playing 2 AA teams with a combined record of 4-10. As of today their opponents on their schedule are a combined 28-43! The teams left for the Maud cardinals are a combined 9-12. They will see the toughest game this Friday from Sims Bowie(5-2). Seems like that might be a good game until you look at last weeks scores... Maud beat Hawkins 51-19. Hawkins beat Sims Bowie 39-20... If you look down the rest of their schedule you see a familiar team in Big Sandy. If you recall Stratford was a big underdog against Big Sandy in the State Championship game a few years ago. Big Sandy(2-5) was dismantled by Sims Bowie 62-0. Obviously not the same Big Sandy team... I guess what I am trying to say is: "Seriously #9?". If this is the team you are calling #1... The biggest question in my mind is when Canadian & Stratford win state in their divisions will we go back to week 7 to determine the class A overall state champion? How about a plus 1 game!

Week 7 is here!

This season is flying by! I will be going to the PD v. Randall game tonight to take some photos. It looks like it will be a great night for some football! Randall looks like the favorite in 3-4A this year. The rest of their schedule gets allot more interesting though... I will then be driving to Snyder to watch Snyder & Abilene Wylie get it on through at least the first quarter 1/2. Then I will not speed to Sweetwater to cover the end of that game...(Sweetwater v. Graham) I know I could travel half the distance and see one of the best games in the state... Canadian v. Stratford... WOW! What a match up. However, I think these 2 games could be games with some surprises... Obviously Sweetwater is the clear favorite over Graham. Although, Snyder and Wylie... In Snyder? Plus Wylie had a tough game against Brownwood last week. It is going to be tough to get up 2 weeks in a row especially on the road.

I had a great experience at Abernathy this past Friday night. Abernathy and Littlefield really got after it. The game was decided by Littlefield going for 2 with about a minute left in the game to take the lead 36-35. It was a great game with a standing room only crowd.

Hey all of you West Texas Football Fans! We have turned the corner and are headed to District play for those schools that have not started yet... Week 5 was a bye week for most schools in our coverage area. We took a bye week as well... Sorry to those of you for taking longer than we usually do in updating the site... I am starting to look at schedules for next week to see where I might go for some good games... Will let you know what I come up with.

Idalou the "Rodney Dangerfield" of West Texas

3-2A is a very tough district... Idalou, Littlefield, DC, Abernathy & Post are a combined 17-3. With Idalou & Littlefield still unbeaten. The Wildcats are a senior packed team with one of the best running backs in 2A football, Tanner Cook. Sean Reagan(5-11,235) ,who has an older brother Shae Regan starting at tight end for TCU, has a cannon for an arm and plays D-end on the other side of the ball... Idalou has a big physical defense. The type of team other teams hate to play. Just ask the Canadian Wildcats... players will tell you that Idalou is one team they are glad to see NOT on the schedule! Canadian got by Idalou 21-18 in last seasons regional final playoff game. In 3-2A all teams will be tested each week. However, my money is on Idalou. Something about defense & a running game...

Hey AP Wake UP! We have more than Muleshoe & Crane out here!
Idalou - Littlefield - Bushland... Top 10 all the way!
